Two beneficial activities for the body and soul such as beach life and Nordic Walking are combined here at Hotel Adlon, where the owner Claudio Montanari and his activity leaders (official ANWI or Nordic Walking Association of Italy guides, and students of Tuomo Kettunen and Tiina Arrankoski) are more than pleased to accompany guests on relaxing walks along the seashore or the paths in the hinterland.

> Nordic Walking is the new sports discipline that is quickly conquering the entire world. From Finland, its birthplace, to Australia, China and the United States, millions of individuals have taken up this sport.

It is one of the fastest growing sports at the moment.
Nordic Walking involves walking with poles specifically developed for this sport. It provides individuals an easy, natural and very effective way of improving the physical shape they are in and of toning up their body muscles - regardless of age, gender or physical training. What’s more, it’s fun, relaxing and very affordable.

Nordic Walking uses approximately 90% of the body’s muscles without excessively stimulating the joints, resulting in all the benefits of such a complete sport. Each individual identifies his/her practice level from among the three levels of Nordic Walking (wellbeing, fitness and sport), and the exercises adapted to the physical shape he/she is in. It can involve a peaceful and therapeutic walk, good aerobic workout or even specific exercises for athletes.

Nordic Walking may be practiced everywhere, but naturally the best psycho-physical effects are obtained far from city chaos: in parks, along wooded paths, in the countryside, on the beach or in the mountains. However, healthy daily practice – even to improve technique – can also be performed in the city by using special asphalt rubbers on the bottoms of the poles.

> Beach-Nordic Walking involves increasing all the benefits of dynamic walking assisted by the poles while practicing it in our marvellous sea in shallow water (5-10 cm) or in medium-high water (20-50 cm) and on our beautiful beaches.

In addition to the known advantages in terms of weight reduction/control, increasing muscle tone, decontraction of neck and back muscles, helping the cardio-circulatory-immune system, reducing psycho-physical stress, BNW also adds important benefits resulting from the chemical-physical action of sea water.

The technique in shallow water allows increasing the heart rate by 5-10%, which is comparable to the results obtained on a hill with a 10% slope

The technique in medium-high water increases heart rate from 10% to 30% (hills with slopes equal to 20% or more). +).
